YES ON 9 Calls Court Decision "A Setback for Liberty"

(Orlando, FL – July 23, 2010)— Circuit Court Judge James Shelfer ruled today in favor of attorney Mark Herron’s lawsuit against Health Care Freedom for the people of Florida, moving the Democrat operative’s big-government, special interest agenda one step forward.

Judge Shelfer denied Attorney General Bill McCollum’s request to place the text of the Amendment on the ballot which would have simultaneously avoided unnecessary litigation over three alleged misleading statements in the ballot summary, granted plaintiffs’ requested relief, and protected Floridians’ constitutional right to be heard in November.

Obamacare Debacle – Perhaps We Could Learn From Europe's Mistake?

Some politicians have a knack for saying things at the worst possible time. Poor Harry Reid can’t seem to do much right these days. He announces to a group of liberals that “We will have the public option” even though they didn’t quite get it this time around.

Then, in ironic timing even Hollywood couldn’t script, our allies across the pond announce that they are moving the opposite direction and decentralizing their health care system.

This Week's Rambling Thoughts

By Tom Tillison
Orlando Political Press

Babs and I attended the Laura Ingraham bo signing event today at the Plaza Theater in Orlando, had a bo signed – yes, she addressed it to TomT – and also got the chance to speak briefly with Ms. Ingraham, who is a very real, down to earth person. She’s very passionate about what is happening in America and just as passionate in her support of Marco Rubio.

We conservatives are very fortunate that we have individuals such as her out there with the courage to continue speaking out on the issues and taking the fire for doing so!

House Democrat Calls On Rep. Rangel To Resign

Editor’s Note – Shhhhh, keep this quiet…the media doesn’t want the word getting out too far.

Although, it would be beneficial to the Democrats to have this over with well before November. The last thing they want is for this issue to be in the news while folks are casting ballots.

Not that Rangel is the only reminder of the rampant corruption that permeats the halls of Congress.

Beware The Lame Duck

By Charles Krauthammer
Washington Post

Barack Obama’s considerable political capital, earned on Election Day 2008, is spent. Well spent, mind you, on the enactment of a highly ideological agenda of Obamacare, financial reform and a near-trillion-dollar stimulus that will significantly transform the country. But spent nonetheless.

That’s why, as I suggested last week, nothing of major legislative consequence is likely to occur for the next 2 1/2 years. Except, as columnist Irwin Stelzer points out, for one constitutional loophole: a lame-duck Congress called back into session between the elections this November and the swearing-in of the 112th Congress next January.

The Taxpayer Bailout of Bill McCollum

Editor’s Note – Didn’t know that you were funding Bill McCollum’s campaign? With over four weeks remaining, the amount of money to be received by McCollum is going to be substantial.

If you’re feeling a little heartburn over this, let it be a lesson that the public must pay attention to what our ‘representatives’ do in Tallahassee. We’ve heard the saying that elections have consequences, well, so too does apathy…
