Miami Herald Endorses Pam Bondi In Attorney General Race
Herald: “Bondi’s career as a longtime prosecutor gives her the edge in this race.”
MIAMI, Fla. — Today, the Pam Bondi campaign announced the endorsement of the Miami Herald, the second editorial board endorsement this week for the former prosecutor. On Sunday, the Tampa Tribune endorsed Bondi.
Bondi interviewed with the Herald’s editorial board yesterday, the final of their 215 interviews conducted this political cycle. The endorsement outlines Bondi’s agenda, including her commitment to continue the current Attorney General’s lawsuit against the federal government challenging Florida’s participation in healthcare legislation passed by President Obama and Speaker Pelosi. The Herald emphasized Bondi’s experience and her clear priorities on fighting gangs and Medicaid fraud.
“Everywhere we travel in the state, we are receiving extremely positive reinforcement of our vision for Florida,” said candidate Pam Bondi. “We deserve a free and safe environment for our families to grow and our businesses to flourish. I am committed to making every effort possible as Attorney General to advance that agenda.”

Her priorities include the healthcare lawsuit, public safety—she would expand the state’s gang task force—and putting more resources into prosecuting Medicaid fraud, a major problem in this community.
On the oil spill crisis, she wants to make sure that the money set aside by the federal government to compensate victims—from funds provided by BP—goes to companies and individuals, especially fishermen, rather than to other government entities.
