Editor’s Note – A statement was released today by attorney Wade Vose,  a partner with Vose Law Firm, regarding a lawsuit filed by Doug Guetzloe against several tea party movement leaders.

It certainly appears that the tables may be turning on Guetzloe, who has a well established reputation as a litigious individual.

Guetzloe identifies himself as a political consultant to the Florida TEA Party political party, although, it is widely believed that he is the brains behind this endeavor.

The lawsuit Guetzloe filed was in response to an initial lawsuit filed by multiple tea party activists against the Florida TEA Party political party after the TEA Chairman, Fred O’Neal, served notice to groups throughout the state that they could no longer use the term ‘tea party’.

In an age where there’s little justice in our world, it appears that we could be served a heapin’ helping real soon!

Vose Law Firm Represents Tea Party Movement Leaders, Moves to Dismiss Baseless Lawsuit by Doug Guetzloe

Today Tim McClellan and Everett Wilkinson, two leaders of the South Florida Tea Party Movement and clients of Vose Law Firm LLP, have decided to stand up to rank intimidation and call the bluff of nefarious local political operative, Doug Guetzloe, by filing a motion to dismiss Guetzoe’s baseless lawsuit against them and other Tea Party Movement leaders.  Wade Vose, a partner with Vose Law Firm, will represent McClellan and Wilkinson in the suit.

Said Mr. Vose:

Guetzloe has a long history of threatening lawsuits against his political opponents, only to back down in the face of opposition. All the way back in the beginning of May, Guetzloe filed a lawsuit against my clients and other activists, but never had them served or proceeded with the suit. Instead, he trumpeted the case in the media, trying to manufacture a victory out of his mere filing of the suit. My clients only learned of the suit through the media, and from other members of the Tea Party Movement, whom Guetzloe appears to have attempted to intimidate through his touting of the case.

Despite Guetzloe’s refusal to proceed with serving my clients in this lawsuit, my clients have elected to voluntarily enter the suit, so that Guetzloe’s ulterior and illicit attempts at intimidation of the Tea Party Movement will be stopped.

Guetzloe’s complaint is a rambling morass of political conspiracy theories and propaganda, spinning the tail of a vast right-wing conspiracy of powerful, shadow figures and a so-called “Republican Party Establishment.” Much of the complaint appears to have been drafted solely as an attempt to garner much needed creditability for Guetzloe’s underhanded political dealings. Today my clients are moving to dismiss Guetzloe’s complaint in its entirety, because it utterly fails to state a cause of action under Florida law.

My clients have also begun a probing investigation of all of the factual issues raised by Guetzloe’s filing of his baseless lawsuit.

Guetzloe complains that my clients have allegedly said that Guetzloe was trying to “hijack the Tea Party Movement”. So we will have to investigate, through the civil discovery process, one of the main reasons why many in the Tea Party Movement have called Guetzloe a “hijacker”, namely, the swirling allegations of Guetzloe’s and the Florida Tea Party Political Party’s financial ties to liberal Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson.

Guetzloe also complains that my clients have allegedly said that Guetzloe has a history of blackmail and extortion. So we will have to investigate all of Guetzloe’s past business dealings, to look for evidence of blackmail and extortion of public officials and community leaders by Guetzloe.

Guetzloe’s case is baseless, and appears to have been filed solely for media coverage and to intimidate those who oppose his actions. We call on others who have been intimidated by Guetzloe, past and present, to break their silence, and put a stop to his destructive and self-serving actions.
