Alan Grayson Playing The Fool One More Time

Alan Grayson Playing The Fool One More Time

It’s bad enough that we have the President of the United States stand in the Rose Garden yesterday and demand more unfunded entitlements and handouts for American citizens.

One of the citizen ‘props’ staged behind the President stated that he has been unemployed for almost two years, meaning that he has been on the government dole for that long, yet, he still demands more.  He even goes so far as to say that he’s not concerned about where the money comes from, just that he needs help.

Being involved in tea party movement, it immediately brought to mind this quote from Thomas Paine, “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, so that my child may have peace.”  What a long way we have come since then.  We have become a people that demand instant gratification and feel no remorse for saddling our children and grandchildren with debt that will have a direct impact on the quality of life they will know.

I also thought of a time in America where a man would have been too proud to stand in front of the entire country and acknowledge that he has been receiving government assistance for nearly two years, let alone demand more!  Has the time of self reliance and personal pride come and gone in America?

And speaking of lost values, we have Congressman Alan Grayson.  As unemployment in his district reaches record levels, instead of taking actions that will address the problem, he goes before an empty chamber to grandstand and waste time on the unemployment extension bill, which is being addressed in the U.S. Senate, not the House.

We have seen this before from Grayson, throwing all pretense of self respect aside and saying outlandish things to assist in his campaign fund raising efforts.  Unfortunately, there are enough far left wing nuts that will respond to these antics and throw money at him.  Considering the majority of his contributions are coming from outside his district, it’s a necessity that he play the fool.

As for those of us in his district, his act has grown old.  We now see his campaign strategy of passing himself off as a moderate who’s interested in bipartisanship, conveniently ignoring his previous antics of calling conservatives in this country “knuckle dragging Neanderthals”.  This man is the epitome of what is wrong with politics in America and what is wrong with this country, in general.

Despite the apathy and irresponsibility of  Central Florida voters, I pray nightly for the election of a true statesman in district 8 and look forward to November 2 with great anticipation because I know there can be no sin that can possibly warrant another two years of this buffoon.
