Editor’s Note – Why can’t the Republican Party of Florida just leave well enough alone!?
This statement by RPOF Chairman John Thrasher is an outright endorsement of Bill McCollum. Like him or not, Rick Scott is a legitimate Republican candidate that deserves the same respect as McCollum, no more and no less.
And, after repeated calls by the people of this state for the Party to stay out of the primaries, and all the lip service from them affirming just that, we have this.
Although, if we were to be honest with ourselves, there has been a back door effort by many Party officials to support McCollum all along. Trust me, it’s been there.
The RPOF just doesn’t seem to get it…as much as some want to embrace the Party, the establishment keeps giving them reasons not to.
It’s almost assured that the right will realize significant success in November, if we can just lock the RPOF up in a room until then!
RPOF Email Blasts Rick Scott
By Mike Synan
Here is an email WDBO recieved from Republican Party Headquarters:
Republican Party of Florida Chairman John Thrasher released the following statement regarding Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Rick Scott’s continued leveling of false and misleading allegations surrounding the criminal trial of Jim Greer.
“Attorney General McCollum, Speaker-Designate Cannon, Senate President -Designate Haridopolos and I stood up to Governor Crist and worked to remove Jim Greer as Chairman because of his mismanagement of the Party. When evidence of the wrongdoing Jim Greer has now been indicted for was presented to us, Attorney General McCollum acted swiftly to refer our findings to the proper authorities.
“Mr. Scott’s repeated attacks on Attorney General McCollum, Dean Cannon and Mike Haridopolos are not based in truth and come straight from Jim Greer’s talking points. I’m hopeful Rick Scott will begin to lay out a positive message for why he is running for the Republican nomination to be our next Governor, instead of continuing to release false statements regarding fellow Republicans.”
