Craig Miller Leads In Poll

Today, noted pollster John McLaughlin, of McLaughlin and Associates, released survey results in Florida’s 24th Congressional District. The major findings show Seminole County businessman, Craig Miller, as the early frontrunner with 17% of the vote. He is trailed by Sandy Adams at 11%. The remaining three candidates totaled 6% with 66% of the voters still undecided. This is consistent with a Washington Post article written on 6-25-10 that stated that “former Ruth’s Chris steakhouse CEO Craig Miller looks like the nominee.” Further the Craig Miller campaign announced that they raised over $270,000 for the second quarter and will have over $322,000 cash on hand in addition to funds raised over the next 7 weeks to spend before the August 24th primary.

John McLaughlin concluded, “Craig Miller currently leads in the Republican primary race for U.S. Congress among decided voters. With seven weeks until the primary a majority of voters are still undecided. Craig Miller’s favorable rating, name identification and vote share increase significantly among voters who have seen his television ads or received mail from his campaign. Consistent with trends we are seeing across the U.S. voters prefer a candidate like Craig Miller who is new to politics over career politicians like State Representative Sandy Adams.

“We are very pleased with the results,” stated Craig Miller. “However, we are taking nothing for granted and will do whatever it takes to reach the undecided voters. Our fundraising remains strong and will allow us to continue to advertise through television, radio, Internet, and direct mail. I would like everyone who is going to vote on August 24th to know that I am a businessman, a Vietnam Veteran, and someone who shares their desire to have someone in Congress who shares their values. Having served people all of my life, I will always be someone who works tirelessly for my constituents.”

When Craig was just 13 he went to work washing dishes at the Neptune Restaurant in Rockledge, Florida. He graduated from Cocoa High and served in Vietnam. He was stationed at McCoy and Patrick Air Force Bases. He met his wife Susan while working at the Colony Theater in Winter Park and then graduated from UCF. Craig led Pizzeria Uno and Ruth’s Chris Steak House – creating thousands of jobs and building hundreds of restaurants across America. Craig lives in Seminole County with his wife Susan and is the father of three grown children and one grandchild. His mother and sister still live in Brevard County.
