Join me in voting for Sandy Adams

By Jesse Phillips

According to Sandy Adams there are some “scary things going on in our country right now.” In a time when the main stream media is misreporting the news, and people are turning to the Internet for more accurate information, the President is trying to gain executive power to shut the Internet down.

At a time when the government is needed to protect America’s livelihood and defend our coasts from the oil spill, the President is using the disaster to pass a potentially more disastrous Cap and Trade bill. While the administration sits around and blames BP and tries to use a disaster to advance its left-wing agenda, the Jones Act remains un-waived while several capable American-crewed state of the art Taiwanese manufactured ships sit around doing nothing.

According to Sandy Adams, this government inefficiency and politically correct atmosphere is crippling our nation and “driving us away from our core values.” Sandy is concerned about where our country is going and wants to do something about it.

When her first husband was killed in the line of duty, Sandy Adams ran for office to do something about it. She had never considered running until she saw a need for legislation to protect victims rights. She ran, she won and got it done. Now, at a time when we need people of her character in Washington more than ever, she is running again. I think she can get it done in Washington, which is why I hope she wins.

America’s Founding Principals

Sandy Adams also understands our Constitution and founding. She talks about our founding fathers, and how prior to America “they lived under a type of tyranny in which the government controlled the people, instead of the people controlling the government.” Unlike President Obama, who is ashamed of our Constitution because it doesn’t go far enough and degrades it as a “charter of negative rights”, Sandy Adams is “proud of my country and proud of our Constitution.”

Sandy’s Record

Sandy’s record is one I can fully support. She supported the Ultrasound Bill which Charlie I-can’t-win-so-I’m-abandoning-ship Crist vetoed. She understands the values of life and faith. She is strong in her understanding of deficits and spending and she and supports the Fair Tax. Her background in criminal justice will make her any ally in the battle to enable our law enforcement to do their job.

People have brought up her Sun Rail vote. Sandy is not afraid to talk about that, so I’m not afraid to mention it here. Of course she voted for an unpaid rail authority and saved Floridians 235 million dollars. Wouldn’t you?

You can do the research for yourself, but in short, the rail authority cost 15 million. The vote was necessary to ensure the government would return 250 million of Florida’s dollars previously allocated for federal transportation. So Sandy’s vote kept 235 million of Florida’s tax payer dollars in-state without approving any money to be spent on the Sun Rail, a decision I fully support.

Sandy has made votes that are in the best interest of the state even though they might not be popular. She’s not afraid to explain herself, and always gives a straight answer. I like that about her and think that’s what Washington needs. When she explained her Sun Rail vote to the Volusia 9-12 group, they got it, they saw through the media spin, and they endorsed Sandy Adams. I am, and I trust you will, too.

Eying Kosmas

If she wins, she’ll run against Suzanne Kosmas. It’s going to be a difficult race. Kosmas, who flip-flopped on the Healthcare bill, voting for it after vowing to vote against it, is going to be difficult to beat.

Although Kosmas has voted with Pelosi-Obama 92% of the time, she is posturing herself as a business-friendly candidate. She recently got 15-million dollars for NASA. We need someone who is going to be able to run against and beat Kosmas. I think Sandy’s experience, boldness, integrity, no nonsense approach and her understanding of our founding principals make her the candidate of choice for FL-24.
