White House Picks Critic of Local Immigration Enforcement for Key Role at ICE

Powered by Topple

Editor’s Note – Yet one more example that our government is not serious about protecting our borders or enforcing the laws of this land.

The extreme far left base that controls the U.S. Government today understands how critical it is to their long term success to grant Amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens in this country.  This base also knows that the higher that number swells, the better the expected results.  They also understand that the U.S. Senate is very likely to stop any effort at bringing this about…

Is this move just one piece of a much larger puzzle?  Rumors are swirling that Obama is considering signing an Executive Order, ignoring the Constitution  and bypassing Congress in the process, to grant Amnesty to those here illegally.  It very well could be that Obama is positioning individuals that share his philosophy in key positions to ensure that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office is neutralized once he moves forward with this plan.  Not one to buy into conspiracy theories, yet, this is beginning to get very, very troubling!

Why is it beleivable that Obama may do this?  Because the Department of Homeland Security just denied it on Friday!

White House Picks Critic of Local Immigration Enforcement for Key Role at ICE

By Stephan Clark

The Obama administration has tapped an outspoken critic of immigration enforcement on the local level to oversee and promote partnerships between federal and local officials on the issue.

Harold Hurtt, a former police chief in Houston and Phoenix, has been hired as the director for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of State and Local Coordination. Starting July 6, Hurtt will supervise outreach and communication between ICE, local law enforcement agencies, tribal leaders and representatives from non-governmental organizations.

As a police chief, Hurtt was a supporter of “sanctuary city” policies, by which illegal immigrants who don’t commit crimes can live without fear of exposure or detainment because police don’t check for immigration papers.

He also, during his tenure as Houston police chief, criticized ICE’s key program that draws on local law enforcement’s support.

Critics say his pro-immigration policies enabled illegal immigrants to kill two police officers and seriously injure another in Phoenix before he left in 2005 and to kill an officer in Houston before he retired in 2009.
