OBAMA HOLDING ARIZONA HOSTAGE: Ransom demand is Comprehensive Immigration Reform (AKA Amnesty)

Team Obama is accusing of Senator Kyl (Arizona) of telling an untruth, which to us common folk means Obama says Kyl is a liar.

In a recent town hall in Arizona, Senator Kyl told the attendants that Obama, in a one-on-one private meeting with him, said that he would not secure the border until the GOP supports his comprehensive immigration reform.

This revelation caused audible gasps from the concerned citizens at the meeting. They realized that their lives and private property are being held in jeopardy as Obama tries broker a deal.

Here is the transcript from June 18^th town hall:

KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us. I kicked the rest of the people out. … And we had a discussion … Here’s what the president said: The problem is, he said, if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform. In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform.

Now, I explained, you and I, Mr. President, have an obligation to secure the border. That’s an obligation. It also has some potentially positive benefits. You don’t have to have comprehensive reform to secure the border, but you have to secure the border to get comprehensive reform. I said you’d be surprised. Maybe you don’t think that there wouldn’t be any more incentive for comprehensive reform, but I’m not so sure that that’s true. In any event, it doesn’t matter. We’re supposed to secure the border. That’s why it isn’t being done. They frankly don’t want to do it. They want to get something in return for doing their duty.

White House spokesman, Bill Burton, on Monday said the senator’s comments at the town hall were “untrue.”

“No, the president didn’t say that,” Burton said, echoing similar denials made by White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer. “Kyl knows that the president didn’t say that.”

Burton said there was no transcript of the president’s one-on-one meeting with Kyl in the Oval Office.

In a damage control maneuver, the White House released a re-cap of its efforts to secure the border which include an extra 500 million dollars to be spent on security and 1,200 National Guard troops to patrol the border (unarmed).

So, who is lying?  Kyl or Obama?

President Obama has not been forthcoming with his immigration agenda. Remember, Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona, was only informed of the Obama administration’s intent to sue her state  when Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton let it slip to Ecuadorian officials while on a visit.

Kyl spokesman, Ryan Patmintra said that Senator Kyl stands by his remarks. Furthermore, he points out that the White House’s statement “that we must have comprehensive immigration reform to secure the border only confirms Sen. Kyl’s account.”

Apparently, the Obama agenda takes precedence over providing national security. I wonder if the citizens of Arizona would agree.
