Kurt Kelly Wins Northwest Orange Republican Women Federated Straw Poll
OCALA, Fla. (June 17, 2010) – Conservative small businessman Kurt Kelly, a candidate for Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, won the straw poll conducted by the Northwest Orange Republican Women Federated during their monthly general meeting in Apopka. Momentum continues to build as this is the second Republican Party straw poll that Kelly has won in Orange County with the first one being the Orange County Young Republican straw poll which was held last month.
“Thank you to the Northwest Orange Republican Women Federated for their support and for the opportunity to discuss my candidacy for Congress as we work together to defeat the liberal Alan Grayson. While I have a proven track record of supporting pro-business and pro-job legislation as demonstrated by my recent perfect score given to me by the Florida Chamber of Commerce in their Annual Legislative Report Card, Alan Grayson continues to support initiatives that take our country on the road to bankruptcy. Instead of lessening the tax burden on the people of the Central Florida, Alan Grayson supports policies such as government-run health care, cap and trade tax programs and the addition of billions of dollars of new debt through the so-called stimulus program,” said Kelly.
Kelly currently serves district 24 in the Florida House of Representatives. He is challenging Alan Grayson for the district eight congressional seat. Kelly has recently been endorsed by the Associated Industries of Florida, Congressman Cliff Stearns, Florida House Speaker Larry Cretul and elected officials from Orange, Lake, Osceola, Marion Counties and from throughout the state.
