Kelly Calls on Grayson to Support Our Troops and Protect Our Borders
OCALA, Fla. (May 25, 2010) – Conservative small businessman Kurt Kelly, a candidate for Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, slammed Alan Grayson for his lack of support for our fighting men and women and for his failure to defend his nation when criticized by the Mexican President during his address to Congress last week.
“Alan Grayson this past week has proved once again how out of touch he is with Central Floridians. His sponsored legislation to defund our military fighting overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan and saying that is the reason that Americans are poor is ludicrous. He should as I have, pledge to repeal the Obama-Pelosi socialized health care bill as that would be a great first step in demonstrating fiscal discipline. Instead, he demeans our military and uses them in a shameless political stunt,” said Kelly.
Kelly added, “Grayson should also call on his leader, Nancy Pelosi, to denounce being lectured to by the Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, on immigration policy issues while speaking to Congress in the U.S. Capitol. Saying nothing to your leadership while the Mexican President admonishes our nation because its citizens want to enforce its laws is absolutely shameless. Central Florida deserves better.”
Kelly currently serves District 24 in the Florida House of Representatives. He is challenging Alan Grayson for the district eight congressional seat. Kelly has recently been endorsed by the Associated Industries of Florida, Congressman Cliff Stearns, Florida House Speaker Larry Cretul and elected officials from Orange, Lake, Osceola, Marion Counties and from throughout the state.
