Vienna, VA– April 22, 2010 —
The revelation that Florida 24th congressional district candidate Craig Miller openly supports amnesty and weakening immigration enforcement spurred Team America, the largest anti-illegal immigration PAC in the country, to enthusiastically endorse Karen Diebel for Congress.
“Too often conservatives have been sold a bill of goods at the voting booth – Republican candidates who claim to be conservative but are hiding a very liberal agenda. We can’t afford to send another liberal wolf in sheep’s clothing like Craig Miller to congress to work with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama in favor of amnesty” said Team America Chairman Bay Buchanan.
Buchanan points to a 2006 Op Ed written by Miller in the Miami Herald. In the op-ed, Miller rejected “immigration foes” who “claim that the answer is simple: more enforcement” He denounced laws against hiring illegal aliens and explicitly supported the McCain Kennedy Amnesty that the American people rejected. He said that the “the economic consequences of removing the one in 20 employees who are undocumented from America’s workforce would be devastating.”

Buchanan responded: “It is the lack of immigration enforcement has been devastating to the economy and the American worker. With 25 million Americans out of work, there are plenty of Americans who would love to have the jobs that Miller thinks Americans won’t do.”
Buchanan contrasted Miller’s pro-amnesty stance to the conservative position of Karen Deibel “If Karen Diebel is elected to Congress, she will vote to secure our borders, crack down on illegal immigrants and their employers, and reject amnesty.”
Team America Co-Chairman and former Congressman Tom Tancredo echoed Buchanan.
“Republicans taking back the House will do no good if we just replace a pro-amnesty Democrat, with a pro-amnesty Republican like Craig Miller. In fact pro-amnesty Republicans are worse, because they give Pelosi, Reid, and Obama cover to call their left wing agenda ‘bi-partisan’
The choice is crystal clear. Karen Diebel opposes amnesty and wants to enforce our laws against illegal immigration. Craig Miller supports amnesty and wants to give employers free reign to hire illegal aliens instead of Americans who are desperate for jobs.”
Tom Tancredo served Colorado’s 6th Congressional District from 1999 through 2009. As the founder and chair of the 100+ member bipartisan Immigration Reform Caucus, he was recognized by both sides as the most forceful opponent of illegal immigration in Congress. In 2008 he sought the Republican nomination for President.
Angela “Bay” Buchanan began her political career as treasurer for Ronald Reagan’s 1976 and 1980 Presidential Campaigns and then as U.S. Treasurer in his first administration. She served as the campaign chairman for all three of her brother Pat Buchanan’s presidential campaigns. In 2008 she served as chairman of Tom Tancredo’s presidential campaign and then as a senior advisor to Mitt Romney.
