More Inane Ramblings Of A Madman…

Editors Note – More inane ramblings of a madman…although, we must acknowledge, if anyone is qualified to speak of mental health disorders, it would certainly be Alan Grayson.  It’s truly unfortunate that he continues to insult the entire Republican field looking to challenge him, particularly so when you consider that most of these candidates, if not all, are making tremendous sacrifices, out of love of country, to be in this race.  Not only a clear indication of the absolute contempt that Grayson has for those who stand in his way, but, an even better display of his ‘elitist’ attitide toward the public, in general.

Grayson: Tea Partiers need mental help

by Tom Mcniff
Ocala Star-Banner

Congressman Alan Grayson was in Ocala Monday to help dedicate the new headquarters of Telecom Services Bureau, a local call center that will hire 60 new employees using money from the American Recovery and Investment Act.

And during a visit to the Ocala Star-Banner, the famously polarizing freshman Congressman bragged about his accomplishments and shared his views on politics, policy and the Tea Party. Here’s a little bit of what he had to say.

On the bevy of Republicans lining up to run against him in November:
“Is it possible they could all lose? The other side is in such disarray. Is it possible they could run and no one would win? Because they all look like losers to me. It’s not the A team, it’s not the B team, it’s not the bench, it’s not even the farm team (Republicans) are running against me. It’s the little league.”

And anyway, he said, “This seat is not going back to them (the GOP). There is no way the Democratic Party will let that happen.”

On the stimulus bill, also known as the American Recovery and Investment Act:
“I really do think we would be living in caves if not for the Recovery Bill. Things were shaping up to be very, very bad.”

On taxes:
“No one wants to pay more taxes. I think we pay too much in taxes. It’s just that we’re not getting enough for what we pay,” he said, noting that many European countries offer their citizens free college tuition and free health care. American defense spending is the worst, he said. “We spend more than the rest of the world combined. What, are we going to be invaded by space aliens? Who are we defending ourselves against for $1 trillion?”

On whether the Tea Party will be a force in the fall elections:
“It seems to me to be a very marginal group. Whenever there’s a rally on Capitol Hill, Fox lies about their numbers by several orders of magnitude.”

On the Tea Party, in general:
“It’s an entirely incoherent message manipulated largely by right-wing media. I listen to Glenn Beck from time to time. I think he’ s a crackpot. And I think these (Tea Partiers) are just mean people who are acting up. I can tell you that they should be glad that Health Care Reform has mental health coverage, because some of them need it.”
