Pastor Scott at WH roundtable: ‘I’ve lived under 12 administrations, Trump has been the most pro-black president in my lifetime’

Pastor Darrell Scott says that Donald Trump is the most pro-black president in his lifetime and that goes back to the 1950s.

Scott also called out the relentlessly anti-Trump mainstream media echo chamber for demonizing the president on race relations.

The pastor who endorsed Trump in 2016 and served on his transition team made his feelings about the 45th president abundantly clear during Trump’s listening session with African-American leaders at the Ford Motor plant in Ypsilanti, Mich.

“I said it before unashamedly and I say it again: This president has been — I’ve lived under 12 presidential administrations. I was born during the Eisenhower’s administration. This president has been the most pro-black president in my lifetime.

“But when I say ‘pro,’ I’m saying pro in the sense of being proactive. He’s been proactive, rather than reactive, to issues concerning minority, underserved, and disadvantaged communities than any other president in my lifetime. I really believe history is going to be kinder to you, Mr. President, than the fake news media is today.”

“Can’t be any worse,” Trump quipped as he thanked Scott for his glowing evaluation.

The pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, told Trump that “we have your back…because we know you have our back as well.”

Scott’s remarks seem particularly pertinent given the ongoing firestorm over presumptive 2020 Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s absurd and arrogant remark that “you ain’t black” if you vote for Trump.

African-Americans from across the ideological spectrum — including Black Entertainment Television founder Robert Johnson — have blasted Biden for paternalistically assuming that Democrats have a lock on the black vote in November. Identity politics is perhaps the only thing that Sleepy Joe has going for him in the campaign which he is trying to run from the basement of his Delaware home.

The Michigan meeting was primarily focused on COVID-19’s impact on minority communities.

Said the president, “As our nation battles the invisible enemy, African American communities have been hit very hard, including in Detroit…My administration is working relentlessly to rush supplies and resources to these communities and to protect the health, safety, and economic opportunity of all African Americans and all Americans.”

Although the Democrats and their media allies have downplayed Trump administration accomplishments, the president has won praise for criminal justice and prison reform, opportunity zones, permanent funding for historically black colleges, record (pre-COVID) unemployment among blacks, Hispanics, and the workforce generally, among other key initiatives.

Trump has also developed close ties with the faith community, as exemplified by his bond with Pastor Scott, and has called on the nation’s governors to liberate churches and other places of worship from draconian lockdowns.

Michigan under power-drunk Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, however, just extended the state’s stay-at-home order for the fifth time.

Whitmer’s equally unhinged ally, state Attorney General Dana Nessel, chided the Ford Motor Co. for allowing Trump to visit the Ypsilanti plant without wearing a mask which she claimed violated Whitmer’s edict.

According to Fox News, “Trump did wear a mask for part of the tour of the plant that has been repurposed to make medical supplies, but refused to put it on in front of reporters — although at least one photographer snapped a photo that was posted on social media.”

As is his nature, Trump responded on Twitter:
