A former employee of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee filed a lawsuit claiming the Texas Democrat fired her when she tried to take legal action against the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) after a former Lee employee raped her.

Sheila Jackson Lee is the chair of the CBCF’s board. Both Lee and the CBCF are named as defendants in the lawsuit, which seeks at least $75,000 in damages.

Jane Doe: I Was Raped When I Was 19-Year-Old Intern

The former employee (referred to as “Jane Doe” in her lawsuit) claims she was raped in 2015 by a former employee of the CBCF when she was a 19-year-old intern.

In her complaint, the plaintiff claims Jackson Lee retaliated against her when she asked for a meeting in March 2018 to discuss the alleged 2015 rape.

Jane Doe claims that Damien Jones ― the CBCF’s then-30-year-old intern coordinator ― asked her out to dinner in October 2015 when she was a 19-year-old intern.

Damien Jones is accused of raping a 19-year-old intern when he worked for Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee.

She says Jones got her drunk during their date. After dinner at a local restaurant, Doe says Jones took her to his home, and may have drugged her.

“Ms. Doe can only partially recall the subsequent events that evening because of the large quantity of alcohol Mr. Jones had given her at the restaurant and/or because he drugged her at some point that night,” the complaint alleges.

Doe then claims that Jones touched her without her consent and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The next morning, Doe claims she woke up naked in Jones’ bed and left. She says she felt pain all over her body the next day.

Jane Doe claims she later reported the rape to the police and told several other people, including Sheila Jackson Lee and Congresswoman Terri Sewell of Alabama. The staffer said she did not pursue legal action at the time of the alleged assault but changed her mind in 2018.

Jane Doe claims she was fired several weeks after requesting a meeting with Jackson Lee in March 2018. Lee’s office has not publicly commented on the lawsuit or the rape allegations.

Keep in mind that Sheila Jackson Lee ― like other Democrats ― claim to be champions for women and have repeatedly slammed President Trump as a sexist.

In April 2018, Lee also announced plans to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.

In a press release, Lee claimed: “The Violence Against Women Act is central to our nation’s effort to fight the epidemic of domestic, sexual dating violence, and stalking.”

The irony!

Accused Rapist Also Worked For Beto O’Rourke

Damien Jones, the accused rapist, most recently worked as a regional political director for Democrat Beto O’Rourke’s Senate campaign.

O’Rourke’s rep told BuzzFeed they were not aware of the allegations and cut ties with Jones.

“The Beto for Texas campaign was absolutely not aware of these allegations until today and no longer has a relationship with Damien Jones,” said a rep.

This rape lawsuit is curiously reminiscent of a similar incident involving Democrat Senator Kamala Harris.

As BizPac Review reported, a senior Harris aide resigned in December 2018 amid revelations that her office paid $400,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit.
