Joy Reid says 2nd Amendment supporters ‘creepy,’ MSNBC guest replies conservatives will ‘thankfully die off’ soon

MSNBC is at the forefront of disturbing acrimony against law-abiding gun owners who want nothing more than to defend themselves and their families. These good, decent Americans are being conflated with savage criminals, such as Parkland mass murderer Nikolas Cruz.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy called the National Rifle Association a “terrorist organization,” a disgusting talking point echoed by Rosie O’Donnell. Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy had the temerity to say that Republicans are “complicit” in mass murder if they don’t pass more gun control laws.

“They act, quite frankly, in some cases as a terrorist organization,” Malloy said. “You want to make safer guns? We will boycott your company. That’s who they are. That’s what they do.”

Not to be outdone, MSNBC slimed Second Amendment supporters and wished for them all to die out.

“There is a conservative media that’s very particular about portraying the way they feel the world is, the way it should be,” Joy Reid said. “In this world view that’s being portrayed, Chicago is this hell hole, right, where everyone is shooting. It’s like gang land. And that the way classrooms should be is that all teachers would be prepared to take out a gun and it’s somehow the wild west when the actual wild west didn’t allow people to carry guns in the city limits.”

“At some point does the conservative media run out of viewers because it is appealing to sort of an old kind of crusty, creepy weird worldview that these young people who are a big, big part of the American population do not share?” Reid said.

“Well, I think that there is some credence to that at some point just the process of evolution some of these viewers they’re going to thankfully die off and that will be the end of that,” Kurt Bardella replied.

Let’s just stop right there. The “process of evolution” will kill off conservatives? This is the typical Hegelian mythology that the progressive left has insulated themselves with for the last century. It’s the idea that they are on the side of progress, which will carry itself by a kind of inertia to a utopian tomorrow. It also happens to be false.

Conservatives believe in proceeding from the truth and attempting to build a better future within the parameters of freedom and respecting individual rights, such as the natural right of self-defense. MSNBC continues with its slanted, dehumanizing portrayal or its imagined interlocutors.

“At the end of the day, the worldview that is espousing conservative media and places like Fox News paints this distorted picture if a crime is committed by an illegal immigrant it’s the worst tragedy every imaginable,” Bardella continued.

The rest is the predictable race and identity politics that biased news outlets like MSNBC have been spouting for years, and to no effect but to divide Americans and turn them against one another.

If the media wants to see “evolution,” they could start with a more intellectually honest conversation based on the facts about political hot topics. Since that’s never going to happen, we’re left with pointing out the rampant bias in the media, which seems to get more credibility among its audience than it merits.
