Tucker rips James Comey as an ‘aspiring MSNBC contributor’ in brilliant rant on FBI’s opposition to FISA memo

Boy, does Tucker Carlson ever have James Comey pegged.

No one outside the most radical, conspiracy-theory-driven Left considers the Clinton campaign and DNC-funded “Trump dossier” a credible, verifiable, or remotely true document, and yet this is the “evidence” the FBI used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on individuals associated with the Trump campaign.

So, what does James Comey, who signed three of the applications, have to say for himself? Nothing, of course, but a snarky tweet:

Which was roundly dissected and mocked by the Fox News host on his Friday night show.

The best part? When Carlson nailed Comey’s likely future career ambitions by calling the former FBI director an “aspiring MSNBC contributor.”

Because we all know that’s where Comey’s going to end up – after his prison term, of course.

“Assessing all of this, no rational person could in good faith treat the Trump dossier as fact,” Carlson said. “And yet that is exactly how the FBI presented it to the FISA court when they asked to spy on Carter Page. They never mentioned any of the facts we just gave you, they hid them. That is lying. There is no other way to describe it – they have been busted lying, but they won’t admit it.”

The Fox News host then ripped into the former FBI director who, instead of speaking to the “facts the memo raised,” chose to “mock” its release “like the aspiring MSNBC contributor he apparently is.”

“Former FBI director Jim Comey took to Twitter today not to apologize for any of this or even to address the facts the memo raised, but to mock the release of the memo like the aspiring MSNBC contributor he apparently is,” Carlson said. “‘Dishonest and misleading,’ he said. He didn’t bother to explain how it was dishonest and misleading. Of course, he didn’t. Comey, who leaked his notes on private meetings with the president in a petty revenge move after being fired, is now declaring it beyond the pale somehow for Congress to carry out its constitutional duties of oversight of the FBI. Comey apparently views the FBI as fourth co-equal branch of government not subject to the other three.”

In fairness, Carlson could be wrong here. After all, Comey might end up at CNN!
