Former attorney general Eric Holder weighed in on the debate over the potential release of the controversial FISA memo which he said would be “dangerous” and “irresponsible.”
Holder, who served under former President Obama from 2009 to 2015, tweeted a statement as tensions mounted over whether the White House should release the classified four-page document penned by the staff of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.
People must understand what is at stake by release of the bogus, contrived Nunes memo. It uses normally protected material and puts at risk our intell capabilities in order to derail a legitimate criminal investigation. This is unheard of- it is dangerous and it is irresponsible

Those with a discerning eye will have a simple question for Holder after his statement.
Fox News Channel’s senior political analyst Brit Hume pointed it out in a tweet responding to Holder’s.
Holder, of course, has no way of knowing what the memo says, unless someone has leaked it. And what does that tell you about who is playing fast & loose with secrets? https://t.co/zEEsKFZyYt

With Democrats in a panic over what appears to be an imminent release of the classified document, which potentially would impact special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation by exposing corruption at top levels in the FBI and the Department of Justice, Holder’s response was telling.
He continued to react on Twitter, sharing the FBI’s statement regarding the FISA memo.

And again, he tweeted a rebuke of the “Nunes nonsense.”
If the Nunes nonsense gets released – unbelievable – then, in some proper way, the Schiff analysis must also be shared with the public. Republicans on the Committee have a duty to the American people that outweighs their desire to protect a corrupt process and individuals.

Following some technical redactions requested by the FBI, the White House is expected to release the declassified document on Friday, despite tantrums and panic attacks from Democrats and Obama-era officials like Holder, the only cabinet member in U.S. history to be held in contempt of Congress during the investigation of the Fast and Furious operation which allowed weapons from the U.S. to pass into the hands of suspected gun smugglers.
Twitter users weighed in on the former AG’s reactions.
If it’s bogus then why does it contain classified material?

Holder routinely broke laws during his time as AG – he could eventually be caught

Eric Holder the AG who authorized the selling of weapons to gangs & cartelsloosing track of the weapons allowing them to be used to kill American citizens, has the right to speak on responsibility how? #ReleaseTheMemo

Great point here. How does Eric know it is a bogus, contrived memo? How does he know the memo will put our intel capabilities at risk? Yes it is dangerous and irresponsible for anyone to see leaked information.

Curious that unknown information is both “bogus” and “normally protected” per Holder…

You were held in contempt of Congress! You’re entire run at Attorney General is laundry list of lies, deceit and manipulation.

It’s called transparency. I know your party doesn’t believe in that but the American People do.
