The 2005 Obama-Farrakhan photo setting the Internet on fire? The Congressional Black Caucus buried it before election

It must be great to have people so eagerly sweep your dirty laundry under the rug for you.

A 2005 photo showing then-Senator Barack Obama with National of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan was hidden by the Congressional Black Caucus for more than a decade, Fox News reports.

The picture surfaced last week, published by the Trice Edney News Wire. Askia Muhammad, the photographer who captured the meeting between the future president and the controversial minister, said the photo “absolutely would have made a difference” in the 2008 election.

Muhammad explained how the CBC instructed him to keep the picture from public eyes.

“A staff member from the black caucus called me and said ‘we have to have the picture back,’ and I was kind of taken aback. And we talked a couple of times on the phone after that, and I said ‘Okay, I will give the picture back to Minister Farrakhan’s chief of staff,” he said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Muahammad told Carlson he made a copy of the photograph for himself. It was published recently in a book titled “The Autobiography of Charles 67.”

“I gave the original disk to him, and in a sense swore myself to secrecy because I had quietly made a copy for myself. It’s my picture, it’s my art, and it’s my intellectual property. I owned it and I wanted to keep it.”

Muhammad asserted the CBC “sensed the future” regarding Obama’s political career and knew that Farrakhan’s “reputation would hurt someone trying to win acceptance in the broad cross-section.”

“But after the nomination was secured and all the way up until the inauguration; then for eight years after he was President, it was kept under cover,” the photographer told Trice Edney News Wire.

Muhammad claimed members of the Nation of Islam worked on Obama’s staff.

“In fact he had people from the Nation of Islam working on his staff and in his office in the Chicago, his Senate staff,” he said. “The members of the Nation of Islam helped him in his Senate campaign and on the South Side of Chicago.”

Farrakhan has been labeled a racist by the Southern Poverty Law Center and an anti-semite by the Anti-Defamation League. His controversial remarks include claiming that Jews played key role in the 9/11 attacks.

During the 2008 election, candidate Obama was pressured to denounce Farrakhan at the insistence of Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton.

What else has Obama been hiding all these years?
