Louise Turpin’s half-sister Teresa Robinette claims they were both sexually abused as kids, during an episode of “Megyn Kelly Today” Monday.
Robinette gave an emotional interview to Megyn Kelly, opening up about her half-sister. Turpin, 49, was charged with abusing and torturing her 13 children. She and her husband David Turpin, 57, faced their initial court arraignment in California Thursday.
“A close family friend abused my mother and sexually abused my mother and then me and Louise and a few of our cousins and family. That was a situation that was ongoing,” Robinette told Kelly. “It’s always been a big secret in our family.”
Despite Robinette’s mother knowing the family friend abused her daughters, they were still often around him.
Robinette says around eight years ago, she was no longer was allowed to Skype with her nieces and nephews. “She didn’t trust the church anymore and that they were experimenting with different religions,” Robinette said.
“She told me she and David met a man online from Huntsville, Alabama, and they were on their way there to meet him and that she wanted to sleep with him and David was ok with that. All I know is that it did happen,” Robinette said.
The Turpins went back to the same hotel room where they met the man one year later.
Robinette also claimed that she had Skyped with some of the Turpin children years ago. “I always said that I think those children were very book smart but I was worried that because they were homeschooling them and they didn’t hold a conversation well,” she said and added that while they were friendly, they seemed to have social issues.
In the aftermath of this case, Robinette states that her half-sister is “dead” to her. She also wishes to tell the Turpin children that they still have “family that is not deranged.”
Louise’s other sister Elizabeth Jane Flores, a Christian motivational speaker, claims that she was never allowed to visit the Turpin children. Flores said she has not seen her sister in 19 years.
