More people believe Obama is responsible for the ‘excellent’ economy than Donald Trump

On Thursday morning, President Trump tweeted the results of a new Quinnipiac poll that showed 66 percent of respondents feeling the U.S. economy is either “excellent or good,” but he might not have read the rest of the poll.

Sure, it’s hard to ignore the consumer confidence, economic activity, and a stock market that seemingly reaches new highs every week, but who to give the credit to, Trump or former President Obama? That’s the real question, apparently.

From the poll release:

Bright Economic Outlook – With Credit to Obama

A total of 66 percent of American voters say the nation’s economy is “excellent” or “good,” up from 63 percent December 19 and the highest positive rating for the economy since the Quinnipiac University Poll first asked this question in 2001. Another 33 percent say the economy is “not so good” or “poor.”

Trump’s policies are helping the nation’s economy, 37 percent of voters say, as 29 percent say his policies are hurting the economy and 30 percent say these policies are not making much difference.

But 49 percent of voters say former President Barack Obama is more responsible for the state of the economy, while 40 percent say Trump is more responsible.

“President Trump can hang his hat on the economy, but must share the hat rack with President Barack Obama, as two-thirds of the country see the economic picture as excellent or good,” Malloy said.

A discrepancy the liberal media was quick to jump on:

Of course, it wasn’t really a question with liberals when the economy was tanking under Obama. That was all about Bush, wasn’t it? In fact, we’re pretty sure they were blaming it on Bush right up to Obama’s eighth year. Don’t believe me? MSNBC commentator Richard Wolffe wrote a column in August 2016 entitled, “America’s problems aren’t Obama’s fault. They’re George W Bush’s.”

August, 2016.

So, how exactly is Obama responsible for this booming economy we’re currently dealing with? How exactly does raising taxes, expanding government, imposing burdensome regulations, and restricting freedoms EVER help spur economic growth?

Indeed. And finally, Fox News’ Charles Payne breaks down the ‘why’ of this particular poll.
