Democrat lawmakers plot ‘all black’ fashion statement for Trump’s State of the Union to mimic Golden Globes

Democratic lawmakers are planning to hijack Trump’s upcoming State of the Union address by wearing black.

Liberal congresswomen and senators are hopping on the Hollywood bandwagon in yet another attempt to virtue-signal and pay lip service to championing women’s rights.

The “silent protest” mimics what some actresses did at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, when they wore black to spotlight sexual harassment in show business.

The Democratic Women’s Working Group is urging all lawmakers — both male and female, Republican and Democrat — to wear black to protest sexual harassment. Predictably, the mainstream media are trying to spin the move as a silent protest against President Trump.

Support for the symbolic protest is high within the Democratic Women’s Working Group, which includes all of the Democratic women in the House, Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., told NBC News.

“This is a culture change that is sweeping the country, and Congress is embracing it,” Speier said.

Washington, D.C., has been roiled by sexual harassment accusations ever since news surfaced in November 2017 that Democrat John Conyers — the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives — had used taxpayer money to settle a lawsuit filed by a former employee who was allegedly fired because she wouldn’t have sex with him.

Other women came forward with similar accusations against Conyers, who has stepped down. Since then, a barrage of harassment claims have been revealed against numerous other lawmakers, including Democratic Senator Al Franken.

John Conyers isn’t the only politician who’s using taxpayer funds to settle sex abuse claims. Congress has spent $17 million of taxpayer money since 1997 to settle 264 harassment claims filed against lawmakers.

After paying off victims, Congress protects the identity of the abusers, even though they’re public servants whose salaries are paid by taxpayers.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee said this scam is outrageous. “I shouldn’t have to pay out of my paycheck, or you yours, to cover the sins of some congressman who couldn’t keep his hands to himself,” Huckabee told Fox News.

The new “wear black” campaign by Democrats is eerily similar to the stunt they pulled in March 2017, when Dem Congresswomen wore white to troll Trump during his first joint address. That stunt backfired bigly.

The all-white fashion statement morphed into a hilarious meme that mocked Dems as white supremacist Ku Klux Klan members, a reference to the fact that the KKK was founded by the Democratic Party.
