Joe Scarborough wants GOP to force Trump into mental fitness ‘exam’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough thinks the GOP should push President Donald Trump to get a psychological “exam” and have psychiatrists deem him fit for office, according to a Monday “Morning Joe” segment.

“I’m wondering if there are any patriots in the Republican Party willing to step forward, worried about the next two or three vital years, and at least force this president to get an exam. Not just physical,” Scarborough said.

His co-host and fiancé, Mika Brzezinski, finished the sentence with “neuro-pysch.”

Scarborough agreed and said Trump should seek an “independent evaluation” to prove his critics wrong.

“Yeah, to see if all of the experts and all of the psychiatrists who fear that he is exhibiting signs of a failing mental state — and I’m just wondering whether the Republicans in Congress and whether people around him can say Mr. President, why don’t you just prove your critics wrong? Why don’t get an independent evaluation?” Scarborough said.
