Chick-fil-A again opened its doors on Sunday. Its reason brings a tear to the eye of any ‘blue lives matter’ supporter

Let’s face it, Chick-fil-A may well be America’s most patriotic fast food joint.

A local Chick-fil-A franchise in Park Meadows, Colorado broke its rule about being closed on Sunday to feed first responders of the deadly ambush shooting against law enforcement officers in Highlands Ranch.

Five Douglas County Sheriff’s Department deputies and two civilians were shot at by 37-year-old Matthew Riehl on New Year’s Eve. One of the officers, 29-year-old Zackari Parrish, died from the gunshot wounds.

The Park Meadows Chick-fil-A mourned the fallen. The restaurant’s regular staff was assisted by officers from three counties in preparing 400 sandwiches for the first responders.

“With heavy hearts and lots of community support three Douglas County, Jefferson County and other County officers are helping with food 400 sandwiches for first responders,” the franchise wrote on Facebook. “Our prayers are with all that serve and their family’s.”

Since 1946, Chick-fil-A has made a tradition of keeping closed on the Sunday in honor of the Christian Sabbath. But the restaurant has notably made exceptions for emergencies.

The Park Meadows crew was captured hard-at-work cooking food for the local men and women in uniform.

Parrish was honored in a candlelight vigil Monday night, in which his wife delivered a moving address and was comforted by their four-year-old daughter.

“It’s OK momma, it’s OK,” the young girl told her grieving mother. “Just be happy.”

Last month, an Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A fed thousands of stranded travelers during a major power outage at the city’s Hatsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Chick-fil-A has frequently been slammed by liberals because of its leaderships’ support for traditional marriage.

With so many businesses bowing to the political left, conservatives can certainly feel good about having a chicken sandwich for lunch.
