Dem donor paid $500K to fund women accusing Trump of misconduct, but not just ANY Dem donor

Fake news doesn’t come cheaply.

A wealthy Hillary Clinton supporter dropped half a million dollars in the run up to the 2016 election to fund a number of alleged victims willing to accuse President Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that Susie Tompkins Buell, a major Clinton donor for years, gave $500,000 to celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom in support of a stable of women willing to come forward – if the price was right.

Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing, was joined in the endeavor to exploit allegations of sexual harassment for political gain by Clinton operative David Brock, who donated $200,000 to the effort through a nonprofit group he founded, according to The Times.

Bloom solicited financial support for her show ponies, suggesting they might “find the courage to speak out” against Donald Trump if provided funds for security, relocation and possibly a “safe house.”

“Security and relocation are expensive,” she said, “and were sorely needed in a case of this magnitude, in a country filled with so much anger, hate and violence.”

Looking to capitalize on “the political potency of sexual harassment charges,” Bloom contacted a pro-Clinton “super PAC” after Trump clinched the Republican presidential nomination for money to help her vet a claim against him. That case collapsed a week before Election Day, the newspaper reported, but Bloom said several donors reached out, “asking how they could help.”

And that’s when Bloom informed them she was working with “a few other women.”

Unfortunately for Bloom, though, her ponies came down with stage fright when it was show time.

None of the victims were willing to come forward, including a woman who requested $2 million, the lawyer said.

Bloom said she refunded most of the money, keeping only “some funds to pay for our out-of-pocket expenses” accrued to vet and prepare the cases.

She also insisted that she did not communicate with Clinton or her campaign “on any of this.”

The Hill reported in mid-December that Bloom was “offering to sell alleged victims’ stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000.”
