After being called out by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro for a Twitter rant in which she quite literally offered bribes to politicians and used GOP Senator Susan Collins’ family to attack her tax plan vote, Rosie O’Donnell lashed out with a now-deleted series of profanities that would probably have gotten any known conservative banned from Twitter for good.
Apparently, as far as Twitter is concerned, tweeting “Suck my d***” and “Lick me too Ben” at real people doesn’t quite rise to the level of expressing politically incorrect views, an offense that can get one banned completely from the platform these days.
Being a dutiful citizen, Shapiro reported the harassment to Twitter anyway, just to see what would happen.
Just reported @Rosie for targeted harassment, mainly to see if Twitter does indeed have a double standard. Everyone knows if Rosie were conservative, Twitter would suspend her in a hot second. So, Twitter, put your money where your mouth is. #MeToo

The Daily Wire editor-in-chief then explained that it’s not that he actually wanted them to punish O’Donnell, only to apply “their own rules” consistently.
It's an attempt to clarify Twitter's standards. I don't actually want them to ban or suspend Rosie. I want them to stop applying their own rules inconsistently. https://t.co/3osiWM7aEI

It didn’t take long for O’Donnell to respond, such that it was:
oh ben
— ROSIE (@Rosie) December 22, 2017
To which Shapiro brilliantly slammed her and a key aspect of the #MeToo movement, that any woman should be believed when it comes to allegations against me, no matter what, all at the same time:
.@Rosie, all victims deserve to be believed. https://t.co/damwZxO2bR

Interestingly, O’Donnell later posted a screenshot showing that Twitter actually did “lock” her account for “violating our rules against abusive behavior.”
does this float ur cork #trumpMORONS pic.twitter.com/U104JowFXd

There seemed to be no break in her tweets, so one cannot help but wonder what “locked” really meant in this case. But considering that O’Donnell isn’t a conservative, at least a slap on the wrist is better than nothing at all!
