The tsunami of victims speaking out about alleged sexual abuse and other forms of inappropriate behavior is washing away the veil of hypocrisy in Hollywood.
Actor Richard Dreyfuss is the latest cad to be exposed, with Los Angeles-based writer Jessica Teich telling Vulture this week that he had harassed her for years when they worked together in the 1980s.
Dreyfuss disputed the claim that he exposed himself to Teich, but confessed that he was “horrified and bewildered” to learn that what he considered “a consensual seduction ritual that went on and on for many years … wasn’t consensual.”
Here’s more from Dreyfuss on the allegation:

Teich said she came forward when she became “bothered” by Dreyfuss’ response to his son, Harry, outing actor Kevin Spacey for groping his crotch when he was just 18.
I love my son @harrydreyfuss more than I could explain with all the words in the world. And I am so incredibly proud of him right now. https://t.co/iLOxTxPe4n

Despite his own misgivings which, if true, and he seems to suggest that to be the case, show a real lack of class, Dreyfuss is not above condemning President Donald Trump for his lack of guts and class.
In an impromptu interview with TMZ, the actor responded to Trump’s decision to skip the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this year:
But that paled in comparison to Dreyfuss saying that Trump is not someone who you’d let marry your daughter.
“If a man like that asked you for permission to marry your daughter, what would your answer be?” he told The Guardian last year. “If it’s no, I think it’s obvious we shouldn’t give him the most powerful office on the face of the Earth.”
How’s that for hypocrisy!
Another spirited Trump critic, fellow left-wing actor George Takei, is being accused of sexual assault by a former model and actor who said Takei took advantage of him way back in 1981.
Social media users were not about to accept Dreyfuss’ sanctimonious excuse-making. Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
"I'm glad exposing myself to my employee can spark a cultural conversation about all of us re-learning the rules of acceptable behavior" is exactly how you should NOT be responding to things like this. Yeesh.

Richard Dreyfuss did not meet Jessica Teich in a bar. They were not on a date. He was her employer. That's why his behavior was not "flirting". It was either sexual harrassment – if not attempted sexual assault. https://t.co/SesporCU89

Oh hey Dick,
It's not 'us' or 'we' that have a problem.
It's Hollywood.
And you have the balls (chosen word) to lecture us?
Go away and fix yourself.
Stay silent.
Repent and make yourself right.
Most of us are doing just fine. https://t.co/CBhovT32mX— Mrs. Rutter ™ (@lindarutter) November 11, 2017
Seriously? In response to allegations he decides to give a speech from on high, frames his behavior as a ‘norm’ and that the times they are a changing. No, his actions have *always* been unacceptable and NOT normal. He needs to do way more than play ‘catch up’. Accept & repent.
