Judge rules Bowe Bergdahl should get ‘no prison time’ for dishonorable actions in Afghanistan

Former US Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was captured by the Taliban after deserting a military base in Afghanistan, will avoid prison time according to a court’s ruling on Friday.

Bergdahl will receive a dishonorable discharge, but will receive no prison time for desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. He will also have to pay a $1,000 fine and have his rank reduced to E1.
