Sharyl Attkisson, an Emmy Award-winning investigative journalist, is not surprised by news seemingly confirming President Trump’s allegation that the Obama administration spied on him. Because that’s exactly what Obama did to her.
Attkisson, a former CBS News reporter, said her computer and laptop were hacked after she did stories criticizing then-president Barack Obama.
In 2015, Attkisson filed a federal lawsuit against the Obama Justice Department (and then-Attorney General Eric Holder) for breaking into her personal computer. That lawsuit continues to this day; in fact, there’s a hearing this week.
In an op-ed for The Hill entitled “It looks like Obama did spy on Trump, just as he apparently did to me,” Attkisson said she’s alarmed that the Obama administration “weaponized” federal intelligence agencies to spy on and silence reporters:
According to media reports this week, the FBI did indeed “wiretap” the former head of Trump’s campaign, Paul Manafort, both before and after Trump was elected. If Trump officials — or Trump himself — communicated with Manafort during the wiretaps, they would have been recorded, too.
But we’re missing the bigger story.
If these reports are accurate, it means U.S. intelligence agencies secretly surveilled at least a half dozen Trump associates. And those are just the ones we know about.
The government subsequently got caught monitoring journalists at Fox News, the Associated Press, and, as I allege in a federal lawsuit, my computers while I worked as an investigative correspondent at CBS News.
The mainstream media — which are 97% liberal — derisively laughed at President Trump when he tweeted that Obama had wiretapped him during the 2016 presidential campaign when he was a private citizen.
But new evidence now suggests Trump was right all along. Not only did Obama and his administration deny those allegations, but the media blithely went along and covered for him.
Trump: I was "wire tapped"
CNN: Haha. That idiot @realDonaldTrump thinks he was wiretapped.

The problem with this — in addition to privacy violations — is that the media are colluding with politicians they like (such as Obama) to silence non-liberal critics and to promote their own narrative. Objectivity in reporting is now totally out the window.
The Obama administration also spied on Fox News‘ chief Washington correspondent, James Rosen and HIS PARENTS. Amazingly, Rosen didn’t find out about this until four years later from a Washington Post report. That’s how deep the conspiracy goes.
This has chilling implications for every individual. We should all be alarmed by these abuses.

So Obama WAS wiretapping @realDonaldTrump after all–once again Trump is right & the media hyenas prove to be wrong

Bad enough that Obama's DOJ ordered wiretap of an @realDonaldTrump campaign official. Worse that FISA court didn't see it's political nature pic.twitter.com/Am1wEnXoN6
