Hillary claims she mistook Chaffetz for Priebus at Trump’s inauguration, he says that doesn’t add up

Hillary Clinton’s new book will need space in the fiction section considering the newest excerpt release.

The former first lady, and Democrat presidential candidate, wrote that she accidentally shook hands with former Utah Rep, Jason Chaffetz at President Donald Trump’s inauguration because she mistook him for Reince Priebus.

“We headed up the stairs to leave the platform and go back inside the Capitol, shaking hands along the way,” she wrote in an excerpt of her book “What Happened,” obtained by The Daily Beast.

“I saw a man off to the side who I thought was Reince Priebus, head of the Republican National Committee and incoming White House Chief of Staff. As I passed by, we shook hands and exchanged small talk. Later I realized it hadn’t been Priebus at all. It was Jason Chaffetz, the then-Utah Congressman and wannabe Javert who made endless political hay out of my emails and the 2012 tragedy in Benghazi, Libya,” she said.

Chaffetz had shared a photo of the handshake on Instagram, and added that he was happy she was not the president.

So pleased she is not the President. I thanked her for her service and wished her luck. The investigation continues.

Chaffetz and Fox News host Martha MacCallum were not buying Hillary’s mistaken identity claim and discussed the photo Thursday night on “The Story.”

“Oh boy, if I was Reince Priebus, I’d be ticked,” Chaffetz quipped.

“She had just shaken hands with Reince Priebus down at the bottom of the stage. I don’t know if she thought he had gotten back in line to shake hands again,” he said.

Chaffetz once again expressed his relief Hillary had not won the election and touched on the investigations against her that he helped lead.

That sparked MacCallum’s hilarious statement on the picture.

“I think it would be pretty surprising if she didn’t know who you were given what you were handling and given how close all of that was to her,” MacCallum added.

Bingo.

Many on social media didn’t know what to make of her statement either.
