‘Stunning’ math! New political analysis shows Dems are doomed in 2018 and beyond

When it comes to politics, Mark Twain may have gotten it right when he said, “There are lies, damn lies and statistics.”

At least, Democrats better hope Twain was right, based on a FiveThirtyEight analysis, which shows they are screwed when it comes to the 2018 election.

In addition to spelling out the doom that awaits the Democratic Party, the results explain Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s refusal to lead.

“The Senate hasn’t had such a strong pro-GOP bias since the ratification of direct Senate elections in 1913,” Cook Political Report’s David Wasserman wrote.

CNN’s Chris Cillizza tweeted a caption from the FiveThirtyEight article that suggests Rep. Maxine Waters aspirations for speaker of the House are going to have to wait.

“Stunning,” Cillizza stated.

It would appear that Democrats have an uphill battle ahead, but as one social media user noted, perhaps they’ll blame the Russians:
