A patriotic New Jersey dad did something few people do, which is to put his money where his mouth is.

Joseph Berardo, the father of recent high school graduate Grant Berardo, donated $5,279 out of his own pocket to pay for a reprint of his son’s anti-Trump, censored yearbook.

In June, Wall Township High School made national headlines after it digitally removed President Trump’s logo from two students’ yearbook photos. Another student’s Trump quote was also censored out.

After much outcry, the high school’s yearbook adviser, Susan Parsons (whose annual salary tops $92,000) was suspended with pay and could be further punished pending an investigation, the Asbury Park Press reported.

Since then, 200 copies of the yearbook were reprinted with the Trump logos and quote intact. It cost $10,000 to reissue the books.

The donations were initially kept anonymous but were revealed after the Asbury Park Press filed an Open Public Records Act request.

It turns out that Joseph Berardo, the father of Grant Berardo, quietly donated $5,279 of his own money to cover the reprint costs.

Lors Photography, which takes the photos for Wall Township High School, donated $3,000. And the yearbook publisher, Jostens, issued a credit for the remaining costs.

When asked why he paid for the reprint, Joseph Berardo told the Asbury Park Press it was “the right thing” to do.

“Supporting the kids of Wall Township seemed like the right thing to do,” he said modestly. “I didn’t want there to be some other program that didn’t get funded because of this.”
