Tucker’s floored! California wants to break from US to export middle class and make room for immigrants

“I don’t know if this a parody segment. Are you being serious?”

That’s what Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson said in disbelief to a dingbat guest while debating Calexit, a movement that calls for California to “secede” from the United States.

Calexit has gained steam as the radical left has become more extreme since President Trump took office. Calexit supporters want California to become an independent country through a ballot initiative in 2018 that would initially require 585,000 signatures.

Shankar Singam, vice president of the California Freedom Coalition, said California should leave the United States because it has the fifth-largest economy in the world and doesn’t need the rest of the country.

Besides, Singam said, much of America dismisses Californians as “snowflakes” and “hippies,” so what’s the big deal? Singam appears to be of Indian descent. It’s unclear how he rose to be the “leader” of the Calexit movement.

Tucker Carlson — who was born and raised in California — called Calexit ridiculous and half-baked. “Do you fully comprehend the implications of this?” he asked. “Why would the rest of us Americans let California go without a war?”

An apparently brain-damaged Singam replied: “This is California. We’re not the United States. We disregard what the United States thinks, or even their laws.”

A stunned Tucker Carlson fired back:

It’s basically the economy of Mexico: you’ve got a small number of rich people, the tech people. And you got a TON of poor people, and the middle class are leaving. That sounds like a recipe for instability.

Singam explained that he and his group want a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens. In other words, he wants California’s middle class to leave so it can add more illegal immigrants, many of whom just drain the economy. In 2015, California received $368 billion in federal aid.

“In regard to the middle class leaving, that’s actually a good thing,” Singam said. “We need these spots opened up for the new wave of [illegal] immigrants.”

Tucker quipped: “You just said you’re happy to be exporting the middle class of your state. I never met you, I never heard of you. I don’t know if this is a parody, or if you’re high. And you’re happy California is exporting the middle class. Are you being serious?”

Meanwhile, if California did leave, hopefully this would go with it:

Some Californians said unhinged Calexit supporters like Shankar Singam do NOT speak for them. Nikki Finke, founder of the popular entertainment website, Deadline Hollywood, was furious.

Others said if California wants to leave the United States, vaya con dios, baby!!
