Partisan politics are tearing the country apart, and some marriages are the collateral damage in a growing trend called the “Trump Divorce.”

Socialite Lynn Aronberg, a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader, and her husband Dave Aronberg, the Palm Beach County state attorney, have filed for divorce after less than two years of marriage.

Lynn cited the emotional alienation she felt stemming from her support of President Donald Trump. Her husband is a steadfast Democrat, while she is a “staunch Republican and supporter of President Trump.”

In an unusual move, Lynn — who runs her own eponymous public relations firm — made the announcement in a press release, where she revealed she felt “increasingly isolated in the marriage” because of their political differences.

Lynn, 36, also noted that she wanted children while Dave, 46, did not. The blonde beauty will reportedly receive $100,000 in her divorce settlement.

Dave Aronberg is a former Florida state senator who was elected as Palm Beach County state attorney in 2012. Lynn Aronberg is a former cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins football team who has an MBA

While the notion that a couple would divorce over President Trump sounds silly, people do fight over politics. A recent study by Wakefield Research, a Virginia polling firm, indicated that 1 in 10 couples (married or unmarried) broke up over political disagreements.

Millennials especially were more like to split up because of political arguments. Wakefield’s research showed that 24% of American couples admit they have argued with their partner over politics since President Trump was elected.

One notable example is White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, whose wife Deidre Ball recently filed for divorce because she reportedly got fed up with his relentless desire to get close to Trump.

Scaramucci, 52, and Ball, 38, have been married since 2014 and have 2 children. Deidre, who was pregnant when she filed for divorce, gave birth in late-July.

Anthony was previously married to his first wife, Lisa, for 23 years; they have 3 children together.

“Deidre has left him and has filed for divorce,” a source told the New York Post. “She liked the nice Wall Street life and their home on Long Island, not the insane world of D.C. She is tired of his naked ambition.”

The insider added: “Deidre is not a fan of Trump, and she hasn’t exactly been on board and supportive of Anthony and his push to get into the White House.”

Some 22% of Americans say they know a couple whose relationship “has been negatively impacted specifically due to President Trump’s election.”

New York divorce attorney Lois Brenner told Fox Business she has seen an increase in the “Trump Divorce” phenomenon. “In my 35 years of matrimonial practice, I have never seen so many couples split over a political disagreement as with the Trump election,” she said. “The essence is: you must agree with me.”

After speaking to both liberals and conservatives, this seems to lie at the heart of the matter: Liberals think conservatives are heartless because they don’t support socialistic policies, while conservatives think libs are stupid and unrealistic because they don’t realize there’s no such thing as “free.”

Meanwhile, a recent study published in the Journal of Public Economics claims conservatives are better-looking than liberals. Researchers noted:

“A simple economic explanation of the appearance gap in favor of the right is that beautiful people earn more money. And the more people earn, the more they are inclined to oppose redistribution and arguably, to support, get active in, and represent parties to the right.”
