Popular female hunter found in apparent suicide following sick online threats from animal rights activists

A popular hunter from Catalonia, Spain, committed suicide after reportedly being threatened repeatedly by animal rights activists.

Melania Capitan, 27, was found dead after apparently killing herself at her apartment in Huesca, Spain, the Daily Mail reported, citing the Spanish Hunting magazine Jara y Sedal.

Capitan blogged about hunting, including posting photos of some of her kills, and had almost 40,000 Facebook followers.

She left a suicide note addressed to friends, according to the Daily Mail — it’s not clear if her death was directly related to online threats she had been receiving.
