Free abortions for everyone including illegals; Oregon’s Dem governor about to sign bill into law

Elections have consequences.

Achieving a long sought after goal of the left, a woman’s right to free and unfettered abortions, Oregon’s Democratic Gov. Kate Brown will sign legislation accomplishing just that.

The bill represents a sweeping, unprecedented change in state law that will require insurers to provide free abortions to all residents, to include illegal immigrants, The Washington Times reported. No Republicans voted for the bill.

“The ability to control our bodies and make informed decisions about health are critical to providing all Oregonians the opportunity to achieve our full potential and live productive, thriving lives,” Brown explained in an email, according to The Times.

“Attempts to deny access to contraceptives and family planning are an attack on all Oregonians, particularly women of color, low-income and young women,” she added.

But there’s little truth to the liberal gobbledygook Brown is spouting, considering Oregon has the least-restrictive abortion laws in the nation.

Republican state Rep. Mike Nearman said as much during a debate on the House floor, according to The Times.

“We don’t need to do this. This is Oregon,” he said. “There [are] no legal restrictions on anyone’s right to get an abortion — you can get an abortion at any time for any reason. Even sex selection.”

Republican state Rep. Bill Post predicted the new law would increase the number of abortions in Oregon by at least 3,000 each year, this coming at a time when abortions are down significantly in the state — four Planned Parenthood facilities have closed there in the past few years.

The Times noted that Planned Parenthood “helped write the measure and pushed for its passage.”

And illegal immigrants will not be denied, thanks to the forced generosity of taxpayers.

“House Bill 3391B will require insurance companies to provide reproductive health care, including abortion, without a co-pay or deductible,” Democratic state Rep. Pam Marsh said in an op-ed run in the Mail Tribune.

“It will also allocate funding for women whose citizenship status prevents them from coverage on OHP or via private insurance.”

This follows an executive order Brown signed in February making Oregon a sanctuary state.
