Police shoot armed black woman; readers demand paper change headline to a racist anti-cop version

Social justice warriors are attacking their own after an armed  black woman was shot and killed by police in Seattle.

Charleena Lyles, 30, called police to report an attempted burglary on Sunday, but after police arrived to the scene Lyles brandished a knife at the officers,” the Seattle Times reported.

The two officers, who have not been named, fired at Lyles, killing her.

According to Lyles family, she was several months pregnant, had mental health issues and believed the police were going to take her children from her.

“Why couldn’t they have Tased her? They could have taken her down. I could have taken her down,” Lyle’s sister, Monika Williams, told the Times.

Not surprisingly the family believes race played a role in the shooting.

“Officers were confronted by a 30-year-old woman armed with a knife,” the Seattle police wrote its web blotter. “Both officers fired their duty weapons, striking the woman.

“There were several children inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured,” it said. “They are being cared for by other family members at this time.”

And while the angry activists on social media were making their usual anti-police posts, some took aim at a surprising target.

The Seattle Times, one of the most liberal newspapers in America, took fire over its headline, that accurately read “Armed woman fatally shot after calling police had mental-health issues, family says.”

But apparently the SJWs wanted the newspaper to convict the officers in the headline.

Apparently the Times changed the headline but people were still angry.
