President Trump, accompanied by first lady Melania and son Barron, made his first visit to Camp David Saturday, arriving on Marine One helicopter.
The president has been using his own Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach as a retreat but chose Camp David as his Father’s Day getaway.
It’s the first official visit for the New York born and bred president, who had some early reservations about the property.
“Camp David is very rustic, it’s nice, you’d like it,” Trump said in an interview with a European journalist prior to taking office.
“You know how long you’d like it? For about 30 minutes,” he quipped.

Melania Trump said she was looking forward to it as a weekend of family fun.

The trip comes on the heels of a well-received speech Trump delivered in the Little Havana section of Miami, in which he announced a modification of his predecessor’s renormalization of relations with Cuba.
Supporters wished him well on his long-deserved retreat.
God Bless this family. They are being assaulted from every direction!!0

Sounds like a fun place for the Trump family, especially Barron

But at least one hoped the place had been de-bugged prior to the first family’s arrival — but he wasn’t necessarily talking about the creepy-crawly kind.

Hopefully the Secret Service has cleared the woods to make them Hillary free.
Happy Fathers Day Mr President.

The presidential retreat, located 62 miles north-northwest of Washington, D.C. in the Catoctin Mountain Park, is officially known as the Naval Support Facility Thurmont, but was re-dubbed Camp David by President Dwight Eisenhower in honor of his father and grandson, both named David.
In fact, Eisenhower met with then-President John F. Kennedy there just three months into Kennedy’s administration.
Camp David was a favored weekend retreat for many presidents, including John F. Kennedy and George W. Bush.
