Megyn Kelly inadvertently snubs co-host right out of the gates; wears eye-popping outfit for Putin interview

Megyn Kelly donned an eye-popping outfit in her new role as an NBC News anchor.

Megyn Kelly’s high slit, platform heels, and off the shoulder dress has tongues wagging on social media.

But got off to a bit of a rocky start on Thursday when Kelly was welcomed by “Today” hosts Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb but she only gave the welcome back to two of her new co-hosts.

“NBC’s Megyn Kelly is in St. Petersburg where she will speak with Mr. Putin,” Lauer said.

“We should note, this is her first appearance as an NBC news anchor. So we say good morning and welcome. Great to have you here, Megyn!”

“Hey, guys. It’s great to be with you, Matt and Savannah,” Kelly said, snubbing Kotb who, the Daily Mail noted, has been most excited about her arrival.

Kotb flung her hands out as if to say “what about me?”

Kelly managed to mention Kotb at the end of the segment.

Kelly went on to describe her interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian people that will air on Sunday on her new show “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly.”

A show she previewed this week by telling viewers the “five things” she wanted them to know.

“This is the first time (Putin is) actually taking questions from an American journalist since the special counsel was appointed in the United States to look into allegations of Russian interference in our election,” she said.

Kelly also sat down with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, for a pre-interview of sorts, who tweeted about the encounter.

But for many, the big story is what the former Fox News host was wearing.

Kelly stunned in an off-the-shoulder $990 blue velvet number with a big slit up the side, designed by Yigal Azrouel.

She paired it with a pair of black velvet platform shoes by Mary Jones.

Kelly’s outfit turned out to be a distraction for many:

But earlier in the day, Kelly was looking up, and forward to the interview and posted a picture to prove it:
