Rich Instagram ‘brat’ polishes her $2 million Maserati with a puppy

A “rich kids” video posted on Instagram has sparked major backlash for featuring a puppy being used to “wash” a $2 million Maserati.

The video, shared by the Rich Kids London Instagram page, showed a tiny white puppy being held on its back against the hood of a white Maserati MC12. The puppy was moved in circular motions, mimicking the washing of the super car while laughter can be heard, presumably from Instagram user, m666ya, who is credited with the video.

The only way to wash the iconic 6.0 litre #MaseratiMC12 is with 100% natural puppy fur ensuring a proper polish. (No puppy was harmed in this video – all smiles and tail wags here). Courtesy of @m666ya

“The only way to wash the iconic 6.0 litre #MaseratiMC12 is with 100% natural puppy fur ensuring a proper polish,” read the caption. “(No puppy was harmed in this video – all smiles and tail wags here).”

Despite the intended humor in the video, social media users were appalled by the treatment of the puppy as a washcloth for the limited-edition two-seater sports car.

“Abusing innocent puppy,” one Instagram user commented while another added: “Great car but garbage mind.”

“This is messed up!!!!” one said as another told the owner to “get a grip.”

“If you see this as not abusive then you’re just as messed up as he is,” another Instagram user exclaimed in a comment.

“We can understand why people are concerned about this video,” a spokesperson for the RSPCA told The Sun Online. “While the owner does not seem to intend any harm to this dog, the animal may have found this stressful and we would urge owners to think about how something they see as a bit of fun could impact on their pet’s wellbeing.”

Instagram user, M666ya, is apparently a London-based entrepreneur who regularly posts photos of high-end supercars.

“Most girls chase boys… I RACE them! Supercar Owner & Entrepreneur Live. Love. RACE!” her bio reads.

Not all who saw the video were outraged, however.

“You might not find the caption funny- but to say that a puppy who is being (very gently) rubbed on his back and tummy is being abused, is absolutely moronic. There are genuine cases of animal abuse where you can focus your energy instead, and actually help,” one viewer responded on Instagram.

Another simply asked, “Srsly how could u get so butt hurt about this he’s having fun calm down people.”
