Donald Trump goes after James Comey ahead of his FBI director’s Senate testimony

President Donald Trump believes that FBI Director James Comey has been a good thing for Hillary Clinton, despite her complaints that he cost her the election.

On Monday, the day before Comey is set to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the president said the FBI director “was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton” because he “gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!”

The president’s tweets were likely a response to an interview Clinton gave hours earlier in which she, again, blamed Comey’s re-opening of an investigation into her private email server for costing her the election.

“If the election had been on October 27 I’d be your president,” Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

“I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian Wikileaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me, but got scared off,” she continued.

Kellyanne Conway got in even harsher digs at Clinton after she blamed everyone she could for losing the election.

The counselor to the president lambasted Clinton’s “lack of self-awareness” in a series of snarky tweets, but it was how she signed off that was PRICELESS!
