Gaffe-prone Rep. Nancy Pelosi gave comedians yet more material to work off of during her appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.
Host Chuck Todd asked the California Democrat for her opinion on President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall, given that her state shares a border with Mexico.
Pelosi: “The president…is expressing a sign of weakness. He’s saying ‘I can’t control our borders. I have to build a wall.'” #MTP pic.twitter.com/E5ePOFy5Yz

“The wall is immoral, expensive, unwise,” she said. “The president, in talking about this wall, is expressing a sign of weakness. He’s saying ‘I can’t control our borders. I have to build a wall.'”
Twitter found that statement not only idiotic but hypocritical — two hallmarks of the House minority leader’s.

@MeetThePress Pelusi saying building a border wall is immoral. Is like saying putting a fence around my house to keep my kids and dogs safe is wrong right

Will someone ask @NancyPelosi why she voted for a broader fence/wall in 2006 & now it’s immoral? What a lying piece of crap! She needs to go! https://t.co/skVg4G8Jpx

@MeetThePress @chucktodd Building a wall is expensive? And tens millions of dollars per day spent for illegal is not expensive?
— prophetgibran (@wakeupliberal) April 23, 2017
@MeetThePress @chucktodd I wonder if Nancy told Barack, Joe, Hillary, and Chuck that the wall was immoral in 2006 when they voted for it.

@MeetThePress She is dilusional. The President CAN control the borders. Illegal Southern border crossings are way down since January.

@MeetThePress The border wall/fence is just another tool to help the border patrol officers do their job.

There was a joke that made the rounds a few years back, where a law enforcement officer pulled a pickup truck over for speeding. As he was writing up the ticket he noticed a shotgun mounted in a rack behind the driver and the driver sported a revolver on each hip, a .45 across his chest and a small ankle gun.
When the officer asked him what he was so afraid of, the driver looked around at his weapons and said, “Not a damn thing.”
Just like the pickup driver’s arsenal, a wall would be our first line of defense, and with it in place, we wouldn’t have to be afraid of a damn thing.
That wasn’t Pelosi’s only faux pas on “Meet the Press.” After Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Price announced earlier in the week that the party platform was pro-abortion (as opposed to pro-choice), Pelosi claimed that Democrats welcomed pro-lifers.
