Has anyone asked Nikki Haley if Trump is soft on Russia? She would know

The left claims that the administration is soft on Russia, but actions speak louder than words in this case.

Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said she has the tacit blessing of President Donald Trump to go hunting for Russian bear, and not once has she been instructed to hold back.

As a result, “the number-one comment I get [at the U.N.] is they’re just so happy to see the United States lead again,” Haley said.

ABC newswoman Martha Raddatz questioned this during Haley’s appearance on “This Week.”

“How does the U.S. maintain its role as the moral conscience of the world … if the president won’t condemn what’s happening inside Russia?” Raddatz asked.

“Well, Martha, this is what I can tell you: the president has not once called me and said, ‘Don’t beat up on Russia,’ has not once called me and told me what to say,” Haley told her.

Raddatz interrupted to ask if the president himself should be “beating up on Russia.”

I am,” Haley said, “I am beating up on Russia.” The president speaks through his administration — in this case, his ambassador to the U.N.

Something else that may surprise liberals is Haley’s assertion that she will focus heavily on human rights issues after her temporary appointment as president of the U.N. Security Council.

“We called them out on what they did with Ukraine,” Haley told Raddatz. “We’re having this human rights hearing.”

Haley said that America’s agenda is not to placate other countries, like the previous administration’s focus.

“This is not about keeping countries happy; this is about keeping the United States strong, and in order to do that, we have to have the backs of our allies, we have to call out wrongs when we see them, we have to try and move policy in the world, and that’s what we’re doing at the United Nations,” Haley continued.

“It’s a new day at the United Nations in the way that we’re not afraid to talk, we’re going to say what we think, and we’re going to move the ball,” she concluded.
