George Bush’s reported single statement on Trump’s inauguration throws folks for a loop

Former President George W. Bush reportedly had a short but colorful reaction to President Trump’s inauguration speech.

Three people who were present as Bush left the dais that day in January told New York Magazine on Wednesday what they claim to have heard him say.

“That was some weird s–t,” the 43rd president was heard saying after witnessing the transfer of power and hearing Donald Trump’s first speech as president.

A spokesman for Bush declined to comment to New York Magazine about the alleged remark.

Bush has not made any public comment on the ceremony and has largely stayed silent about the new administration.

The former president himself set off a social media frenzy as his struggle with a rain poncho during the inauguration prompted smiles and countless memes.

The latest report on his alleged remark sparked some laughter and some surprising nostalgia from those on Twitter.
