MSNBC segment gets terribly awkward when congressman refers to Maddow as ‘sir’

She implied that she gets this a lot — and most would probably agree.

At the close of an interview on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” Thursday, Rep. Bill Pascrell addressed the host as a male. Oops!

“Congressman, thanks for being with us tonight, sir,” Maddow said to the New Jersey Democrat.

“Thank you, sir,” he replied, before correcting himself. “Ma’am.”

Maddow gave an long, awkward, nervous laugh and told Pascrell it was fine.

“It’s alright, I answer to both. it’s actually quite convenient in unexpected places,” she said “You’d be surprised.”

What a way to round out a not-so-great week for Maddow. Watch the exchange,

It hasn’t been a great week for Maddow, who raised the ire of both the left and the right with her “scoop” that she had President Trump’s tax returns, which in the end were more than a decade old proved only that he made a lot of money and paid a lot of taxes.

Even leftie Stephen Colbert ridiculed the MSNBC host on his own show in a hilarious parody of Maddow’s breathless announcement.

Adding insult to injury, Trump ended up releasing the forms himself before Maddow, out-scooping the scooper.

Cheer up, Maddow. It’s only one more day until the weekend.
