Rand Paul roasts Washington-entrenched John McCain with ultimate political insult

Sen. Rand Paul said essentially that one of his colleagues is a poster child for term limits.

Yes. He went “there.”

While a guest on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the Kentucky Republican was asked to respond to Sen. John McCain’s wild accusation on the Senate floor that Paul is working in cahoots with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I think he makes a really, really strong case,” Paul told host Willie Geist of the Arizona Republican.

“… for term limits,” he added, finishing his thought.

“I think maybe he’s past his prime,” Paul said of his octogenarian colleague. “Maybe he’s gotten a little unhinged.”

Paul enjoyed a lot of support on social media.

McCain’s comments about Paul came after Paul objected to McCain’s call for unanimous consent on a vote for a treaty to allow the tiny nation of Montenegro to join NATO.
