A Republican senator reportedly vented to CNN about President Donald Trump’s press conference, suggesting the president needed a therapist.
CNN’s John King revealed he had received a text message from the unnamed GOP senator following the explosive press conference on Thursday in which Trump summarily blasted the media for its coverage of his administration in its first few weeks.

“I got a text from a couple of Democrats during the thing, who of course are not inclined to like him,” King said Thursday, “But I got a text from a Republican senator who said in this text, ‘He should do this with a therapist, not on live television.’”

Later in the program, King said the senator had been an early critic of Trump.
CNN was called out by the president in the often contentious press conference for its “anger and hatred” as Trump slammed the press for its “fake news.”
