The Democrat Party has lost so much political power that it has been reduced to controlling only five of our 50 states. It is so bad that journalist Glenn Greenwald insists that the Democrat Party has “collapsed as a national political force.”
Greenwald, a writer for The Intercept newspaper, says Democrats are blindly groping forward with an empty policy of calling Trump “every name in the book,” all the while refusing to address the reasons why they have become a minority party, Fox Insider reported.
During an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Greenwald went on to say that the Democrats are not offering a positive message and have made no attempt at all to “reach out to the Rust Belt” that delivered the fatal blow to Hillary Clinton’s bid for the White House.
Even when Democrats do approach the reasons they lost, they retract in the face of hard left-wing pressure. Carlson cited the recent situation surrounding a comment made by Democrat National Committee Chairman candidate Tom Perez — Obama’s former Labor Secretary — who said that the past Democrat primary was “rigged” in favor of Hillary Clinton and promised to “restore transparency to the DNC.”
But as liberal pressure mounted against his comment, Perez rushed to apologize for saying it despite that he was absolutely right. After all, former DNC chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign her post as head of the party machinery because she was part of a cabal to torpedo the primary campaign of Bernie Sanders.
Greenwald went on to say that “the party has collapsed as a national political force” and is in danger having no say if the Republicans were able to call a constitutional convention to make changes to the U.S. Constitution. Greenwald reminded Carlson that it takes two-thirds of the state legislatures to approve any changes to the Constitution but since Democrats only control five states they in danger of having no power to oppose Republican changes.
Greenwald charged the Dem Party has shown no signs of any “self-critique.” But instead, focuses on the Russian narrative and nitpicking everything Trump does – or doesn’t do.
The journalist also noted that the party has completely failed to take stock of itself and hold “autopsies” to explain why it has collapsed the way it has.
