Designer of Joy Villa’s head-turning MAGA gown is a pro-Trump immigrant! The story behind the dress . . .

Singer Joy Villa made a YUGE statement at the Grammy Awards on Sunday when she unveiled her “Make America Great Again” gown.

But an even bigger statement is made when one finds that the dress, which also had “Trump” emblazoned on it, was designed by a Filipino immigrant who is a supporter of President Donald Trump.

“It’s more so about love,” designer Andre Soriano told the Hollywood Reporter. “We all live on this planet. I’ve never been in the political arena. However, it’s just so crazy that people are getting beat up because they voted for Trump, or this and that, someone wants to bomb the White House. I am an American, I moved here from the Philippines, and I highly believed in the trueness of what this country can bring. It’s about bringing people together, that’s the message.”

Soriano, a naturalized American citizen, was featured on Rihanna’s reality show, “Styled to Rock,” which aired on Bravo.

“There are a lot of people that are in power that really misconstrued what this country stands for,” Soriano said. “I love this country. I’m from the Philippine islands, I am a proud American. I really love this country. I am a minority, Joy is black. America is about immigrants.”

The interesting part is the same people who were triggered by Villa’s dress, and judging by the tantrum on social media there were many, are the same people that inspired the designer to make it.

“I heard that somebody wanted to bomb the White House. And then I saw the Women’s March. … Joy Villa is all about love with her music. I’m like, ‘ Joy, We have to make a statement on what is right for our country, of what we believe in, for the Constitution,'” he said.

Soriano said he and Villa have been working together “since the orange gown she wore two years ago, the fence dress.”

Despite the angry responses from the left, Villa and Soriano earned a new group of fans.
