‘Incoming!’ Comedian Rob Schneider gets in trouble over John Lewis tweet

Actor-comedian Rob Schneider found himself in hot water for stating what should have been obvious to Rep. John Lewis.

After the Georgia Democrat announced that he won’t attend Friday’s inauguration ceremony because he had some questions over the legitimacy of President-elect Donald Trump’s election, Schneider invoked Martin Luther King Jr., the late civil rights leader.

Although Schneider’s argument was both reasonable and respectful, the left saw it as a slap across Lewis’ face. And conservatives could see it all coming down.

And right on cue, that was followed by the wrath.

Schneider knew better than to respond directly to his critics — so he posted this quote from Sen. Corey Booker, D-N.J.:

But it did little to quell the flames. One replied that he was going to love his countrymen and countrywomen “by fighting against Trump and his cult.”

Some people just don’t get it.
